1-3-Results and Discussion

A total of 77 species of Arthropods were recorded in this study. Class Insecta had the largest number of species recorded (68), followed by class Arachnida (10 species). Species in class Insecta belong to 14 orders: Thysanura (1 species in one family), Odonata (2 species in 1 family), Orthoptera (6 species in 3 families), Mantodea (1 species in 1 family), Blattaria (2 species in 2 families), Isoptera (at least 1 species in 1 family), Dermaptera (1 species in 1 family), Hemiptera (3 species in 2 families), Homoptera (at least 1 species in 1 family), Neuroptera (1 species in 1 family), Coleoptera (39 species in 6 families), Diptera (6 species in 3 families), Lepidoptera (2 species in 2 families plus many unidentified micro-Lepidoptera), Hymenoptera (at least 2 species in 2 families). Tenebrionid beetles (Coleoptera) were the species collected the most by pitfall traps and direct picking, while Moths were the species collected the most by light traps.

Very few published information about the study area and areas close to it (Southwest Jordan) was collected and the following species were noted as being previously recorded in the area.
